Honouring one of Australia's most recognisable native animals, this beautifully crafted coin celebrates the unique charm of the koala. Renowned for its gentle temperament, the koala spends much of its life resting in eucalyptus trees, waking primarily to feed on gum leaves. With its soft grey fur, rounded ears and distinctive appearance, this iconic marsupial has become a lasting symbol of Australia's extraordinary wildlife and natural heritage.

Design

The reverse features a finely detailed koala resting in the branches of a eucalyptus tree, grasping a leafy sprig in its mouth while surrounded by native foliage. Also incorporated into the design are the inscription 'KOALA', The Perth Mint's renowned 'P' mintmark, together with the coin's weight, fineness and 2026 year-date. The coin’s obverse bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, and the monetary denomination.

The design features a privy mark of the Liberty Bell, a powerful symbol of freedom and independence.

Presentation

The coin is housed in a special ANA World’s Fair of Money presentation card displaying the show logo and dates. The presentation card also features a fold-out stand for upright display.
