According to Chinese tradition, the emperor ordered a great race between all the animals on Earth to determine who should occupy 12 positions in the lunar calendar. In pursuit of the seventh-placed horse, the gentle yet steadfast goat journeyed beside the lively monkey and the spirited rooster. As the finish line drew near, the trio joined forces to navigate a wide, rushing river. With calm determination, the goat led the charge, reached the far bank first, and crossed the line to secure eighth place. Those born under the sign of the Chinese lunar goat in 2027, 2015, 2003, 1991, 1979 and every 12th preceding year are said to be gentle souls with a natural gift for creativity and compassion. Their calm presence and quiet resilience make them steady anchors in challenging moments, while their artistic eye and thoughtful nature draw others to them. Design

The coin’s reverse portrays a majestic goat standing proudly on a mountain plain, with rugged terrain and a solitary tree visible in the distance. Included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘Goat’, the inscription ‘GOAT 2027’, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. On the obverse, the coin bears the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, alongside details of its weight, fineness, and monetary denomination.

Presentation

The coin is protected in an acrylic capsule and presented in a prestigious red display case with a magnetic lid.
