Bödvar Saga introduces a darker and more cinematic chapter within the Germania Mint universe. Inspired by Germanic legend and mythological storytelling, the series follows Bödvar — a warrior marked by devastating loss and driven by an unbreakable will for justice. Each release represents another chapter in the evolving saga, blending mythology, symbolism, and masterful minting techniques.

The 2026 Bödvar Saga: Loss 2oz Silver BU Ultra High Relief coin presents the pivotal moment that changes Bödvar’s fate forever. Designed by Mateusz Frąckowiak and struck with extraordinary depth, the Ultra High Relief finish enhances every detail, bringing dramatic movement and emotion to the design. Combined with antique finishing and UV-reactive black light colouring effects, the piece delivers a striking multi-dimensional visual experience.

DESIGN

The obverse depicts Bödvar rising from the ruins of his destroyed village, bound in heavy chains and surrounded by Roman legionaries. Flames and destruction frame the scene as the warrior’s anger and determination begin to awaken, foreshadowing the immense strength that will soon break his bonds. The dynamic Ultra High Relief striking intensifies the dramatic atmosphere and sculptural depth of the design.

The reverse portrays the final moments between Bödvar and his wife Astrid among the shattered remains of their village. Gravely wounded, Astrid reveals that their daughter Sunneva has been taken. Her final words become Bödvar’s oath and the catalyst for his journey. The scene is enclosed within the jaws of a roaring bear — a symbolic creature tied to the warrior’s future power and destiny.

PRESENTATION

Each coin is housed in a protective lens capsule and presented in Germania Mint’s premium Qureco packaging. The elegant display box is complemented by an artistic outer sleeve and a soft pouch designed to protect the coin while enhancing the overall presentation experience. A numbered Certificate of Authenticity accompanies every release.
