2003 Australian Forces - Vietnam for Service

One Dollar Uncirculated Coin

*Please Note: These coins are pre-owned and the cards may show signs of wear*

This coin commemorates the service of 50,000 Australians in the struggle to maintain the independance of the non-communist Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam), which was finally over-run by the northern Democratic Republic of Vietnam in April 1975. The ten years of Australian involvement made the Vietnam conflict the longest military commitment in Australia's history.

The reverse of the coin features a representation of the Australian Vietnam Forces National Memorial in Canberra. The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II can be found on the coins obverse.
