Queen Elizabeth II was born on 21 April 1926 and ascended the throne in 1952 at age 25. She married Prince Philip in 1947 and together they had four children. Her 70-year reign made her the longest-serving British monarch, marked by resilience and steady leadership through major social and political change. As Head of the Commonwealth, she fostered unity across diverse nations and remained a steadfast figure on the global stage. She passed away on 8 September 2022. In 2026, the world marks what would have been her 100th birthday, honoring her lifelong service and devotion. This three-coin set comprises the following coins:
1oz Silver Proof Coin: The coin’s reverse includes five effigies of Queen Elizabeth II, each featured on coins produced by The Perth Mint, representing distinct periods of her historic reign. The background features Australia’s national floral emblem, the golden wattle, symbolising the nation’s connection to the Commonwealth. Arranged clockwise from the top, are motifs of the St Edward’s Crown, the Sovereign’s Orb, Tudor Rose, and Sovereign’s Sceptre—each signifying key elements of royal tradition and authority.
1oz Silver Proof Gilded Coin: The coin’s reverse features a stylised representation of the commemorative florin issued in 1954 to mark Queen Elizabeth II’s first visit to Australia. The florin showcases a lion and a kangaroo standing side by side, a powerful symbol of the enduring bond between the United Kingdom and Australia. Both the lion and kangaroo, as well as the coin’s outer rim, are gilded in 24-carat gold.
1oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin: The coin’s reverse displays an image of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II wearing the famous wattle dress during her 1954 tour of Australia. The background features a stylised representation of the wattle brooch gifted to the Queen during the visit.
Design
Surrounding the reverse design on each coin is the inscription “H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II 100th ANNIVERSARY”, the 2026 year-date, accompanied by stylised dots, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark. Each coin’s obverse depicts the Dan Thorne effigy of His Majesty King Charles III, along with the coin’s weight, fineness and monetary denomination.
Presentation
The coin is housed in a prestigious presentation case within a delicately illustrated shipper and is accompanied by a numbered certificate of authenticity.
