QUEEN ELIZABETH II 2018 STAMP & COIN COVER

Official Australia Post stamp
Australian legal tender
Commemorative design
Beautifully designed presentation envelope

The Perth Mint and Australia Post are pleased to present this commemorative stamp and coin cover celebrating the 65th anniversary of the coronation of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II succeeded to the throne on 6 February 1952 after the death of her father, King George VI. As a result of the appropriate mourning period and the time needed to prepare for the elaborate ceremony, it was more than a year before her coronation took place, on 2 June 1953.

Issued as Australian legal tender, the uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.

DESIGN
The reverse of the coin depicts St Edward’s Crown atop a stylised shield. These symbols of the British monarchy are surrounded by representations of the floral emblem of Australia, the golden wattle, as well as the official flower of each Australian state and territory.

The design includes the inscriptions H.M. QUEEN ELIZABETH II CORONATION ANNIVERSARY, ‘65’, the year-dates 1953 and 2018, and The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

The Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the 2018 year-date and the monetary denomination are shown on the coin’s obverse.

OFFICIAL AUSTRALIA POST STAMP
Affixed to the envelope is an official Australia Post $1.00 stamp. The stamp is postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity.
