Anzac Day – April 25 – is the anniversary of the first major military action fought by Australian and New Zealand forces during the First World War, and a day of remembrance and commemoration for all of those servicemen and women who have paid the ultimate sacrifice during military operations since then.
This uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965.
The Anzac Day 2017 $1 Coin in Card has an unlimited mintage.
The design on this uncirculated $1 coin portrays two members of the Australian Intelligence Corps analysing enemy force locations on a map. A bugler in silhouette, the inscription ‘Lest We Forget’, and the date April 25 are also incorporated into the design.
Issued as legal tender under Australia’s Currency Act 1965, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the monetary denomination, and the 2017 year-date.
The coin is presented in a specially designed display card, which features a fold-out stand for upright display, and portrays an image of a member of the Australian Intelligence Corps in front of the Canungra War Memorial in Queensland. Each card incorporates the coin’s numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
