The Perth Mint and Australia Post together present the first aluminium bronze coin from the adorable Australian Bush Babies II series. The coin and stamp both capture the inquisitive nature of a beautiful baby kookaburra.  Renowned for its distinctive laughter, the call of this native bird is one of the most unmistakable sounds of the Australian bush.

This wonderful stamp and coin cover series, featuring iconic baby animals gloriously illustrated by designer Elise Martinson, follow the same designs featured on the Australian Bush Babies II 1/2oz silver proof coins released by The Perth Mint from 2012 to 2013.

Australian Legal Tender

Issued as Australian legal tender, the coin’s obverse depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the year-date and the monetary denomination.

Adorable Coin Design

The coin’s reverse depicts an irresistible image capturing the curiosity and mischievousness of a beautiful baby kookaburra. As well as The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark, the design features a friendly Australian insect and delicately frosted representations of Australian bush flowers.

Official Australia Post Stamp

Affixed to the envelope is an official Australia Post $1.70 stamp. The stamp is postmarked for the first day of issue and the envelope includes Australia Post’s Seal of Authenticity and official number.

Beautifully Designed Presentation Card and Envelope

This uncirculated aluminium bronze coin is housed in a beautifully designed card that fits inside a similarly illustrated envelope with a circular window revealing the coin’s reverse and obverse designs.
